What NOT to do

What NOT to do during healing

- Do not start / take off the scabs
After two or three days your tattoo will begin to be very dry. This dryness should be light but some thick scabs may appear in certain areas. These scabs should not be removed under any circumstances.

- Do not remove the skin when the tattoo begins to peel
Once your tattoo has finished the scab phase, the skin will start to peel off and it will gradually come off. With this flaky skin you should not play, scratch or take off. Sometimes it may seem that they only hang on one thread but that "thread" may still be connected to the unhealed skin.

- Do not scratch your tattoo
After 4 or 5 days the tattoo will begin to itch, it is a normal process when the skin is healing. If you scratch it you can remove skin or scab which could lead to a loss of ink and, in addition, your nails can be a focus of bacteria that could infect your tattoo. Moisten your skin with water or a little moisturizer to soothe itching.

- Do not immerse your tattoo in water with chlorine or salts
In the water many different types of bacteria can be housed, so it is imperative that you avoid contact with bathtubs, swimming pools, sea, lakes, saunas, etc. During the first 2 weeks from the day you got tattooed.

- Avoid strong exercise in which you are going to sweat a lot and / or contact / violent sports for two weeks from the moment you get your tattoo.

- Avoid direct exposure to the sun until the tattoo is completely cured. At least for 2-3 weeks.
When the tattoo is recent the tattooed area will be sensitive to the sun so direct exposure for a long time can cause blisters, more swelling and cause complications in the tattooed area.

Do NOT get tattooed or consult your doctor before if your case is one of the following

- You have a weak immune system or are sick.

- You have recently had surgery or you will have it in the near future.

- You are receiving chemotherapy or radiotherapy.

- You suffer from some type of skin disease.

- You have infections caused by bacteria, fungi or viruses.

- If you want to tattoo in areas with recent scars or recent burns.

- You suffer from diabetes.

- Suffer from hemophilia.

- You suffer from heart disease.

- You take or have recently taken anticoagulant medications, antibiotics or cortisone.

Healing: Time and instructions

First care of your tattoo

Taking care of your new tattoo is your responsibility from the moment you get up from the tattoo chair. It is vital that you comply with the routine of care that your tattoo artist gives you. He recommends you the best so that the result of your tattoo is perfect and clear for a lifetime.

At the moment when a tattoo is finished that area of your skin will be an open wound and, therefore, exposed to all types of germs and bacteria.

Using the correct procedures you ensure that that area of your skin remains free of infections and with an environment configured to ensure that the healing process is carried out as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Healing instructions

- Keep the tattoo covered with the soaper until the morning of the next day.

- In the morning clean all the tattoo thoroughly in the shower with a neutral PH soap and make sure it is well cleaned (remove all the plasma and do not leave any wet areas)

- Dry it gently with absorbent paper covering, without rubbing, and leave it uncovered.

- We do not recommend using healing cream during the first two days, however, if you want to use it, apply a VERY small amount and massage the tattooed area until the cream is absorbed. Never put creams in abundance during the first days of healing.

- Clean the tattoo 2 times a day (morning/night) and dry it with absorbent paper for the first 3 days.

- Start hydrating on the fourth day with a non-scented moisturizer (like Balm) and gently massage the tattooed area. Repeat this process twice a day until the tattoo is completely peeled.

- Once the tattoo has been completely peeled off, you can continue applying a little moisturizer for 1 or 2 weeks. The skin that is healing tends to be a little drier and tighter than normal.

Healing time

- Normally a tattoo takes about 4 weeks to heal completely.

- During this time the tattooed area can itch and bother.

- It is very important NOT to scratch or rub the tattoo until it is completely cured. If you do this it could cause an infection and/or cause a bad healing of the tattoo which would lead us to not have a good final result.

- The tattoo is considered to have its final appearance 3 months after it was done.

What do you need to know before getting tattooed? It hurt?

Information that the studio need to know about a client

If you have already identified the style and tattoo artist you want the following is to send us the necessary information to be able to give you an appointment and a budget.

- Your idea: Give us a basic description of what you want and send us reference images to identify the style you like.

- Size you want your piece to have (in centimeters)

- Part of the body where it will be done (attach photo of the area to be tattooed)

- Your mobile number to easily contact you

This information we are requesting is what our artists need to create the design of your tattoo. If your tattoo artist has questions about your tattoo design, he will contact you. If he doesn't contact you, it means that everything is clear.

How long get the tattoo to be finished? It hurts?

The session of a tattoo can last from 30 minutes to a full working day. Many artists work for sessions that last from 5 to 8 hours to advance in large pieces (Body Suits, whole arms, sides, etc.) but in most cases the tattoos are pieces that can be carried out completely in between 1 and 3 hours. The size, place to tattoo, the complexity of the design and the pain threshold of each person will define the time in which each piece or session is made.

The pain that is felt is a kind of scratch on the skin and, obviously, in some areas of the body that are more sensitive the pain will be a bit more. It’s always a manageable pain that involves a physical and mental effort on the part of the client to cope with it.

Taking advantage of the fact that we talk about annoyance and time it’s important to clarify two things: Black and gray tattoos and color tattoos annoy you equally and carry the same job. The complexity of the design and its details are what define the time it takes to make that piece / session beyond if the piece is in color or in black and gray.

Trust

Trust in your Tattoo Studio and in your Tattoo Artist is essential when it comes to tattooing.

It’s very important to value the vision of the artist and trust his work. Think that you are in the hands of an experienced tattoo artist who has done hundreds of tattoos and will know what is best for your design. You will always get the best version of each artist if you give him freedom to express himself.

The artist may suggest changes in color, location or even design. He's not being rude, he's just thinking in what it's the best for you and for the tattoo you want.

When choosing colors, keep in mind that tattooists understand about it, they not only know which ones work well with each other, but also the tones that work best according to your skin color.

Finally, trust your healing tips. There are many things you should not do after tattooing like swimming, going to a sauna or a spa. Always follow our advice because we do our best to take care of you and your tattoo.

Ideas to choose the theme and size of your tattoo

Your body is a canvas and there are practically no limits when expressing what you want your tattoo to represent. Body art should be a reflection of you, your loves, your passions, your perspective, your beliefs or your personality.

Some types of images are timeless: Flowers, skulls, animals, water, fire and religious symbols have stood the test of time as the main theme in tattoo designs.

Let yourself be advised when choosing the size of your tattoo. Many times, for fear of pain or personal tastes, we want to tattoo complex designs of small dimensions. These designs may look great on paper or a screen but that does not mean that when you take them to your skin they look just as good.

In these cases the tattoo artist will suggest what you can do: either simplify the design to keep the size you want or make it larger and be able to do something more detailed. Again I remind you that the intention of the tattoo artist is to leave the studio with a perfect tattoo for a lifetime.

While the theme of your tattoo is a personal decision, we advise you to stay away from certain areas:

- Tattoos on the palm of the hand, internal parts of the fingers, sole of the foot and sides of the foot. These areas of your body have a very thick skin that constantly regenerates, this makes, when the tattoo is healing, that the majority of the ink looks very old or even disappears.
